Lavender Fields – Thoughts of Love

Lavender fields I stroll through
With thoughts of romance and love

Take me beyond this earthly place
of daily stress and human woes

Old world romance, here I am
be so kind to come find me

Let me linger among the glory
of peace and nostalgia

Alone with my mind wandering far
to what once was or will be

Once more and for the last time
let love come to my door

I open myself to the Universe
and ask for love to touch me

Caress me with the fragrance of love
open me to myself and my beloved

Let divine love fill me with bliss
a touch – a hug – a gentle kiss.

Fields of lavender I stroll through
and dare to dream ….

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

Lovely Phyllis, and knowing what we do, without this touch of love, life is never what it could be in potential. Very tender and emotive. Great work Phyllis.

Lavender is my favorite scent, I’m drawn to it like a bee to honeycomb. To be loved is the most beautiful feeling on earth, we desire and long for it. Without it we are empty, a vessel only half filled. This is beautiful composed Phyllis, I wish you love, may you find it in abundance, cherish and hang onto it forever with your heart and soul. Lavender Love, a most rewarding end to your long journey. Your spirit will fill you, keep your heart fully open to receive it when it enters.

    Phyllis,

Oh! What caught me, at first, was the field of Lavender. Then, your words took hold of me, as I breathed in the sweet scent of your poem. How lovely!

Thank you so much, Rasma. I recently moved and twp English lavenders were the first plants I put in my garden so I can make some sachets. So glad you enjoyed the poem. Take care.
