Darkness Poised
Darkness resides in complicity …

The times of darkness
carve pathways in mind and flesh,
like express routes to inner caverns of shadows,
and often light struggles to even glimmer
within these hollows of hopelessness.
As thoughts drive movement without intention,
those pathways on greased tracks rush a heart
to the low tides of being, abandoned and alone,
and oppression if felt in weighted burden,
lost to reason with no redemption.
Darkness resides in complicity,
for all the wrongs and failures seen,
doubts and deeds that echo incessantly
as time eats away at life,
reminding us of our former plights.
Although the weight can be overwhelming,
the sun is always behind the clouds,
and soon a break will forge hope, reprieve,
and life evens, a mind to grasp more productive paradigms,
and live with some modicum of ease.
And so life ensues, the undulations of lightness and dark,
forever present and vigilant,
ready to find those pathways to shadows,
those feelings so grim of past echoes din,
and be aware we must, to maintain a lighter burden.

Living under the pressure of past wrongs, demons residing within, loss love, family and more. All are attacks on self-worth, dignity and caring about SELF any longer. The light gets hidden. The clouds become darker, smothering, fearful. We want to hide bury ourselves behind closed doors. Contemplate death at times, it’s appealing call fills our heavy thoughts and often action is taken. Then a page turns and we wake up to reality.
Day comes again with sunlight to help us move forward again. Oh such a heavy life we bare our souls too. Tony I felt your words.
