Birthday Letters
This poem is my Birthday letter to you,
a dusty photograph into deep space,
a brilliant kaleidoscope of your grace,
a story that is only known by few.
Who carved your delicate portrait in stone?
Each dimple, each aged line I have seen,
a window into people you have been,
now you are solid and I am alone.
I remember your smile with each door slam,
the contour of your neck filled with anger,
the meteorite that fell through your eyes,
the footsteps down the hall when you were calm.
Each moment in your arms smeared to a blur,
this canvas painted with acrylic lies.

A poignant write, Jaimie, with heartfelt expression, warm and emotive of parted love and memories lingering. Nice work.
Thank you Tony I appreciate your support.
I remember and never will forget the day my love perished along with a broken heart and angry soul. The lament of a separated heart, connected what we think is forever, shattered forever. Birthday letters, tarnished, and indeed carved in stone. I felt a connection in your verse Jamie, sadly felt, emotionally felt.
Thank you Vincent I feel that if I can touch on a deep memory and bring back strong emotions then I have created a successful poem.
Thoughts of a lost love linger on, catching us unaware at times. Emotional and well penned work, Jamie.
Thank you Phyllis I am happy to be here and I hope that I can offer more soon.
