Who Then Was She?

She leaves the room, and eyes turn,
the air in sympathetic release
follows her, as if life itself dependent,
and what glittered in her presence fell,
to dull and waning greys.

Her smile lit the sombre room, as
candle shadows danced upon bleak walls,
like nymphs frolicking in a forest glade
softest glow on trees alive,
to celebrate her all.

Without her, a silence consumed the room,
her being far more than beauty’s peer,
for what resides within this one,
like delicate touch or whispers near,
arisen in hearts imbibed.

She was an angel, my guess, an ethereal wisp,
unknown as human women,
unbridled for all she is,
yet she was there, a light of enviable radiance,
so seductive and mesmerising,
beauty’s peak, a woman’s quintessence.

And when she left, hearts stilled,
lost for all she had been in presence,
without words, without fear,
an enigmatic visitation so beguiling,
not a soul could question, just revere.

Who was she, and why she had come to be,
in a room of mere people,
when angels choose and descend to earth,
what mortal beings in acceptance see,
of a higher countenance.

When true beauty arises, who will truly notice,
that is the question?

I have seen beauty such as this and it does cause a hush on an entire room, but of course you no doubt are speaking romantically or spiritually and either way it provided images to suit the eye of the beholder. Very well done.

Thanks Jackie, yes, physical beauty is what catches the eye, but the real gift is within. Glad you enjoyed the work. Take care.

Yes when beauty appears in any form it takes our breath away. When a form is present and it’s form as beauty unleashed, nothing but silence takes over, a pin drop not heard, a hush indeed. For beauty commands attention, it stops a clock, not a sound is heard as it wisps through silken mist. Only a beating of ones heart can the form hear and feel it within it’s soul. I have been in the presence of spiritual form and my emptiness was felt all around it. You sir bring out that spiritual awakening with your words, beautifully expressed as always my dear poet.

Much appreciated Vincent, and I too have been in such a presence, and it is not physical at all but a radiance that comes from a soul that is so beguiling and pure, it cannot be ignored. Thank you my friend.
