Investment in Life
Extremes undulate within a facile life,
rendering understandings beyond common realization,
and to those willing to tread the dark steps of parlous scope,
will find more than the mundane in circumstance,
the peaks and troughs of life an ephemeral experience,
but with profound gifts in learning.
In the realms and totality of eternal balance,
we receive from life what we give to it in effort,
and thus our commitment the measure of experience,
the scope of learning aligned with extent and investment,
all of which create the blueprints of life,
the very nature of our path.
Wisdom does indeed come from experience,
and the broader the experience the more balanced the viewpoint,
if the observer chooses selfless attention,
each facet of possibility rendered on clean, untainted canvas,
truth reliant on its own value alone,
no matter the course of its unveiling.
The deeper one looks in life’s many treasures,
the more is revealed, the greater the revelations,
but no knowledge was ever gained in stillness,
forward movement and intention is the key to learning,
and when life is opened in giving and receiving,
no secrets can reside for long.
Whatever you seek, whatever your cause,
investment is the indispensable quotient
to the flow of knowledge gleaned,
and so life bares not its gifts through expectation but work,
and the results are evident in outcome;
so be clear as to what you want, life shall not afford it
without your investment.

Truer words have never been said, for those of us who invest in work, the dividends can pay plentiful, even whether mundane or boring work can be. I’ve had an interesting career path, held accountable to my choices, yet I would not have had it any other way. I steered my own ship and thus my course in life. investment in time wisely can bring rewards or ruin, the choice is ultimately ours to make. Nicely worded Tony, “all of which create the blueprints of life, the very nature of our path.” So true.
Glad you relate and appreciate the work Vincent, and regardless of why we invest in our chosen paths the rewards always comes from the struggle, the bloodletting and sweat of attaining our goals. Whether it brings us wealth or notoriety or even recognition, it is our commitment to our chosen investment that pays us, knowing we have done everything to succeed, our very best.
“In the realms and totality of eternal balance,
we receive from life what we give to it in effort,”
How very true, Tony. A message for all to remember and live by. Thank you.
Glad you appreciated the thoughts Phyllis, thank you for your kind words. Take care
