My Stillness Dawn
The chill of a hesitant sun rising,
Dawn just awakens souls,
like a spectacular birth,
a melody of unrequited life,
awaiting the new day’s possibility.
It is a sacred gift of vision,
a stilled heart in pensive gaze,
to know this day, like no other
could be the answer to all dreams.
Potential is a beguiling attribute,
a nectar of worthy aspiration,
and each day wipes the slate,
draws a new breath, in hope and scheme.
The chill of a hesitant sun rising,
reminds us of its gift,
and no matter how many dawns I witness,
each one is singular, in beauty and inspirations.
And as long shadows introduce life to day,
and crisp dew laden grasses bend,
light transcends the yellow haze,
introducing diamonds upon the green.
And bird calls fill the air,
calls of exuberant pleas,
to join day and forage in life’s fields,
and in joy resound in skies and freedom flight.
And when that giving orb does hover,
above horizon’s forgiving line,
shadows fall and light pervades,
and day’s begun, in all its glorious ways.

Tony, I never tire of reading your poetry and never tire of saying “beautiful poem”. Where does it all come from? Deep in your heart and soul I think. Amazing and very inspiring.
Most kind Phyllis, so glad you appreciate my poetic skills. Take care.
An amazing brilliance of another day dawning, a gift for sure. To awaken to light instead of darkness brightens our souls. When the clocks change, so does the darkness and lightness. I prefer the light, however there is a calm and peacefulness in the dark. Nicely done Tony.
Thanks Vincent; every now and then I have to write a nature type poem, because it is an endless source of rich imagery. Cheers!
