Confession

Let go …

confession
All too much!

I find myself
between thoughts and words;
like wisps of translucent blue smoke,
these spectres of ‘perhaps’
fade in and out of focus,
haunting my sentient mind;
and the more frustrating they become,
the more emotive their power,
until a desperate sign escapes,
like a suicidal balloon deflating.

How drawn I am to resolution,
and how far I can be from realization,
when even my own art of words,
is held against me,
like a knife to the throat,
a threat of no reply,
just a soul aching denial of expression,
thoughts lost in translation,
emotions scraped by a dull blade,
and the silence of a stilled mind, not found.

Tis no writers block,
no affectation of self-denigration,
no smear of emotional graft,
just the tribulations of an active mind,
lost to truths so overwhelming
that I must rescind function,
let go my endless pursuing
and simply let go,
for my own peace of mind,
for the renewal of this runaway train
that is me.

    Ah! Tony, this is such a deeply emotional expression of floating somewhere in between, outside of reality and looking for a place to land then just be. As always your poetry is so meaningful and beautifully expressed. Marvelous!

    Very well written poetry, Tony. I think most writers and poets can relate to the feelings and thoughts expressed in these words. I know I can. Welcome to The Creative Exiles.

    Well first let me offer up a huge welcome Tony to this new site, created by a talented team of writers, who saw the importance of recruiting exiles like us to form the start of what appears to be a budding site of talented writers. Your talent is exceptional with words and their placement. Your brilliant work never fails to amaze me. Like the sleepy headed Tabby, the blue mist collar symbolizes for me, your clarity of thought that encircles your very fiber. You stretch all of our imaginations to outer limits with every stanza. A visual writer by far one of the best I ever encountered on Hubpages and now you honor us here to continue to expand our minds. I look forward to reading and commenting on your work sir, so again, a huge welcome to this site.
