As the Winds Blow, So My Thoughts

My thoughts as winds blow…

Winds of thought…

As the winds blow, so my thoughts aloft,
finding purchase in heaven’s crop,
but fall some must to lesser plights,
when waver do my thoughts of right,
and yet I seek no more than any other man,
for truths to bathe my time purged sands,
to imbibe the gleaned and knowing soul,
that leads me to my fated path as whole.

Never did I suspect myself,
to betray the aspirations I sought in stealth,
when my silent voice within did undermine,
all I wanted, my ideals sublime,
to shift my wants to baser needs,
and to crush my well-intended deeds,
so then I knew of my innate tendencies,
those traits that can question my security.

Tis not the world that challenges me so,
tis me and all I am to know,
to understand how fragile this mind,
and how thoughts transcend my plans awry,
as I learn of life and the conflicts in view,
and the wars within construe and skew,
for me to balance all in turn,
to meet the challenge and in life discern the truth.
