Moment in the Wind… (I Am A Traveller)

Things change in a Moment in the Wind…

And you can find yourself…never coming back there a-gain.

What you felt and heard and thought and believed could happen…

Were Momentary…and caught you off guard…while you were nappin’.

For I am a Traveller…I drift along in a place you do not see…

I am a Traveller…I stand in Open Fields…in Places…I shouldn’t be.

I’ve travelled…to the midst of a Forest…and stood alone on an Empty Trail…

I go far out there…Away from it all…and stand tall on a Deck…beneath an Open Sail.

In Dreams I travel to places…where I once was…

In my thoughts I go to places…that no one hardly does.

You know…for sure…I am a Traveller…I love to see the Mountains…of the U.S. South-west…

And long to walk a trail…and get lost in thought…while inside a deep East Texas fo-rest.

When we come to a certain Time and Point…in one particular Place…

We can’t be sure that we’ll ever come back there…or if they’ll ever again…see our face.

But Oh…It is so much better to have travelled there…than we ever could begin to ima-gine…

To be somewhere that we usually would never be…and to have been somewhere we never have been.

All opinions that have formed…

Were created by a Social Norm.

Then “Poof”…the Rug was pulled out…

Showing you…What life is really all a-bout.

Things can be gone in the twinkling of eye…Changed in a Single Day.

Our World…Your World…Can be changed in a whole new way.

I’ve travelled here…and I’ve travelled there…

I travelled to a lot of places…mostly just unaware.

That I would be standing here at this Time and Place…

All Places Gone…that I travelled to…Gone without a trace.

Yet…I look in the Mirror to see…

That I was there…A Moment in the Wind…where I long to be.

Steve Walters

Hello…or should I say “Howdy”! I go by the Poet Name of: Manlypoetryman when writing Poetry. As particularly simple as that might sound, I find that this name clears my head from any and all “Hallmark” Romantical, Lovely Greetings, Fare-thee-Well, Card-type insinuations that Men can have concerning “Poetry”. And, it gives me an unquestionable right to write in the Poetic Art Form of Rhyming Poetry Style that I call: “Manly” Poetry.

Enough of that intro. It is really great to be writing here on: "The Creative Exiles". I am lining up some of my best writings for this website. Going to "Bring-it" with a variety of "Poetic-able" Topics. So just kick back and enjoy some of the Poetry I send out to you. It’s all for “Entertainment” purposes only…so all you will have to do is read and enjoy my writings.

And, I really hope you do!

Now, it is time for me to go and write in a "Poet-icized" manner like those long ago “Men of Old” Poets would’ve once long ago done it. They have primarily inspired me to write Poems in a manner that is “Manly” like how they use to write Poetry.
