A Postcard for the Moment

You ever go somewhere fantastic…Grand Canyon, NYC, a Florida Beach, The Alamo, etc. (?) …and in some corner of a nearby drugstore or tourist stand…you find the perfect Postcard of the place? It describes it perfectly. It shows the place exactly as you saw it. Maybe, the Postcard had some humor to it. Maybe, it caught the place on the Postcard at the perfect angle…at the perfect time…professionally…which you just weren’t able to do. For whatever reason though the Postcard showed something spectacular for that particular moment in Time…for you.

(Are there still Texas Postcards that say: “Everything is Bigger in Texas”?)

A Postcard for the Moment

Trying to describe something for the Moment…

Looking for a message…Perhaps “Heaven-Sent”.

Capturing a thought or a feeling…that makes you smile…

Kicking the doldrums to the curb…for a very long while.

It was there…on the little Corner Store...down the street…

Packed into a tight little spinning metal shelf…nice and neat.

The perfect little card…that wrapped up the whole vacation…

One perfect Photo and expression…making you laugh in reaction.

I found that…which I could not say with clarity…or fully express…

There…in a twinkling of an eye…I found what I could not address.

It said it all…clearly…so I didn’t have to…

It described everything…better than I could ever do.

It took the words…the thoughts…the image…that I had in my mind…

And displayed it all out clearly…better than I could ever do in rhyme.

A Fun Thought…A Clearly Projected Image for the “Mo-ment”…

I tell you this much again…It must’ve been “Heaven-Sent”.

Greetings from the Big “H”!

What…you might ask…makes this Postcard so great? “Well…I can expound!”

I can send it off without having to think of a message…or proper verb tense…or noun.

It can say…what I couldn’t quite fathom…

Get right to the point…Better than splitting an Atom.

I can send the Postcard out…without having to stop and think at all…

No cleverness needed on my part…’Cause frankly…I’m up against a Blank Wall!

Would be nice…If I could just Pin it to my Chest…For the Whole Day through…

I could remain silent for the moment…Instead of thinking what to say or do.

So, Folks could come up to me and see exactly where my thinking…is at…

I’m Lost in my Thoughts…My “Postcard for the Moment” would say exactly that.

We all need a “Postcard for the Moment” to say things better than what we can’t quite put into words…

Something that carries the Moment…and completes the comment…which We might fail to say…afterwards.

Our “Postcard for the Moment” that says exactly what we are thinking…

The one that wrapped up the Imagery and Emotions…as the Sun was slowly sinking.

A Postcard that says it all…that is what I wish…I could always find…

It is hard…to Always describe the “Postcard for the Moment”…

That is in my Mind.

(Sometimes…I just wish…I could find a “Postcard for the Moment”…that says it all for those Incredible Moments…in Life.)

THE END.
