Hope – Inspirational and Spiritual Poetry

When asked about the material in his latest book, “Hope – Inspirational and Spiritual Poetry,” author R.J. (Ralph) Schwartz had this to say.
“Hope is a word that has many different meanings. To some it’s an expectation for an outcome, yet to others its a lifeline, a solution to a problem, or a feeling of comfort after a tragedy. It truly is one of the greatest aspects of human existence. Hope is eternal, always willing, endless in application, and a powerful tool for self-motivation. In times of crisis, Hope provides us with positive encouragement, empowerment, and understanding. Hope motivates us to improve our situation, grow spiritually, seek knowledge, and build bridges. It is essential to our existence.”

What You’ll Discover in this Book

This collection of poetry is more than just a series of verses. It is the byproduct of the author’s personal journey. A journey which saw heartbreak, despair, depression, and loneliness. One filled with endless nights, questions, and trepidation. And during those troubled times, a singular word kept him going: Hope. His world was a ship at sea, rocking in the waves with no land in sight, yet he had Hope. Soon, the winds ceased and the waters once again became still. He saw land in the distance, set sail and began the journey to recovery. Soon all things became clear. He immersed himself into his spiritual side, his true inner being, to seek out those things which bore down with the heavy weight of negativity.

Seeing ones shadow is often disturbing, with past events resurfacing, and periods of bed behavior. And yet, it is in this shadowy world that we must face our past, in order to grow. We must take responsibility for problems we have created, falsehoods we have taken part in, people we have scorned, and portrayals of someone who we are not. As we see our true self, we begin to realize our fragility. Our confidence is shaken. Often times, regret whispers its sweet song of pain into our ears. This is a turning point. Either choose to stay in the darkness, or fix that which can be corrected, apologize to those we’ve wronged, and take back control of our lives.

Hope – Inspirational and Spiritual Poetry literally shouts out to the reader, “you are not alone.”

There is light to be found in the darkness. Encouraging words, shared poetically, help that light find the soul.  This collection is a mixture of thought-provoking pieces that have curative properties woven into their threads. Readers will find motivation, affirmation, comfort, and peace, as they too dive deep into their own selves. With luck, the end results will be spiritual growth, forgiveness, and awareness. With a clean spirit, realigning yourself towards the light, with a higher vibration, will lead you forward into a higher state of being.

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
