My Only Ask, Your Honesty
My only ask, your honesty
Offered once, for valued wisdom
Second visions lost to nullity
Speak the words of openness
Candid, percipient honesty
Impression prime, an empty stage
Step light, step bold, but nary shuffle
This open chance spreads confidence
Facts are nice, but feelings better
And nothing risk of contradiction
For moments held soon recollection
Justice wields a stingy blade
For truth a mighty revelation
Whenst spoken twice discrepancy
Peril naught, for judgement wanes
Tabulation rests with unconsciousness
Grievance yields a pity window
Flattery strolls with grandiosity
Neither holds stand within the heart
Drawing even leans to stretch ahead
For what is the measurement of more
Infinite and yet miniscule
Machinations nary best equality
Stand fast upon that rock of essence
Foundation firm and without sway
And what is just shall giveth light
In dimmer corners, emptiness
Rapture discovers only brightness
Happening now provides an offering
Wilt thou stand in the sight
Orate forth with speech of wonder
A soliloquy offered to but one
Shall the words be deemed pure
Factual, sensual, and worthy
Necessary, yet of hearted tender
Tellest that which fills the head
Sings verses to the weary soul
Nary one aghast in vitriol
Enviously slipping from the tongue
Nor thought curtailing jealousy
Giveth thought and affirmation
Spaces filled with wonderment
Tis but room for soulful actuality
Nothing saved for trite façade
And intentions are credible evidential
Quite within the realm of divinity
Benefit yields my open hand
My only ask, your honesty

Imagine starting off from the very first impression with honesty, openness, real emotions, and thoughtfulness, without jealousy, keeping score, seeing the value in everything, no matter how big or small, and once committed, staying faithful.
