From time to time in our lives, we have our ups as if we triumphed and climbed the highest mountain. Then, just as often, we have the downside; we have the freefall into the wind, twirling out of control into a dark abyss. Why is that we ask ourselves? Why do we find ourselves adrift, floating, feeling lost, alone, and pondering what is next? Maybe, just maybe, we need to see the dark side of ourselves, to understand that living this life is not a given. Maybe when we view ourselves at our lowest point that we can truly appreciate the good things in our lives, to love unconditionally, not only those around us, but ourselves.
FREEFALL IN THE WIND
Nowhere to go, just a freefall in the wind,
Hoping to land, praying I will mend.
Spiraling out of control, drifting everywhere,
Wandering, no end in sight, going nowhere.
Lost inside, no one sees my struggle but me,
Friends and family all around, yet no one to see.
Nowhere to go, just a freefall in the wind,
Hoping to land, praying to comprehend.
Can’t see where I’m going, or where I have been,
Breathless, can’t catch my breath, the air is so thin.
I tried to learn from yesterday, and live for today,
All I got were painful memories on replay.
Why did I jump into the wind? What was I thinking?
Into the drift, just a freefall, just forever sinking.
The emptiness feels so heavy, spiraling in the gale,
Forever free-falling. Will I survive to tell the tale?

Yes! Great Poem and Great Intro to the Poem’s main thought. When we are in a freefall…out of control by other forces (wind)…that is giving us the opportunity to let go and truly see what this life is all about. Always appreciate your take on things because Nature or the Old West is going to be tied into it! Diggin’ that Author Promo Vid you have at the end of your work. Wow…Seriously.
Thanks Steve, glad you liked the Promo video, I do a lot of them for my books and such…. they are almost as fun as writing,…..lol… glad you enjoyed the poem and the video…
