The Metal Edge
The Metal Edge
I like Haiku poetry and my favorite band is Metallica so I figured as an interesting exercise I would try to write a haiku style poem using titles of their songs, so here goes, the songs are in Bold letters.
The Metal Edge – A Metallica Haiku
Blackened, beaten, bruised
Hit the Lights my inner Fuel
Life is Sad but True
Master of Puppets
Cyanide, as we plummet
One poison cometh
Dyer’s Eve borrows
A Harvester of Sorrow
King Nothing’s pharaoh
Welcome Home closure
Sanitarium’s owner
A No Leaf Clover
Escape the construct.
Hardwired to self-destruct
I’m Frantic and fucked
Human history
is My Friend of Misery
No Remorse to see
We Seek and Destroy
A Breadfan for proper ploy
No Cure to enjoy
Oh, Poor Twisted Me
The Outlaw Torn, will flee,
My World cannot be.
Confusion wants her
Am I savage? To conjure…
Some Kind of Monster?
Do I Dream No More
This Judas Kiss I’ve adorned
Thorns Within my pores
Mama Said don’t peep
Just wait Until it Sleeps
Damage Inc. will reap
To Live is To Die,
The Day That Never Comes by
The God That Failed sighs
The Struggle Within
The Hero of the Day sins
Of Wolf and Man wins
The Four Horsemen ride
Even Sweet Amber abides
Their Attitudes high
Nothing Else Matters
Through the Never with backers
Borderline swagger
Fade to Black inside
The Unnamed Feeling is pride
St. Anger resides
Dirty Window blight
Halo on Fire burns bright
To Purify night
Then I Disappear
Just a Bullet Away dear,
just Killing Time here
For Whom the Bell Tolls
In this Ecstasy of Gold
Pulling Teeth gets old.
A Moth Into Flame
Don’t Tread On Me reigns
Creeping Death my game.

You had me at Metallica! Very nice use of so many of their songs.
Yes sir. Going to see them in August at Citi Field. 2 day concert. Awesome live musicians.
Paul, this is a very clever and skillfully worded piece. Very well done.
Paul you have hit the nail of the head. When I just started playing around with wherever my creativity led me I started to write more, learn more, and feel more confident in my writing. I love what you are doing keep up the good work. Jamie
