Calm Patience of a Beautiful World
Calm Patience of a Beautiful World
I
Entice the human soul with false glamour
live on and on within a cave of sighs
under incandescent light not sunrise
we do not love but try to enamor.
When we are lost within our make believe
a weather above conditional love
to push connection away with a shove
no loss of deeper meaning there to grieve.
A new life, a new way, new songs to play
to dream of joyous realm built up above
and live a life worthy of such a fate.
Another who wishes for you to stay
at window preening like a Mourning Dove
who knew you are reason to celebrate.
II
Though human I will not join herd to hate
unless desire change, then united
then of course would be very delighted
to share a feast of what is on our plate.
I need to find me a poet to help
to draw a map through dreams to find answers
to loneliness, other modern cancers,
no help from weak ideas and mean lost whelp.
Then I wonder if this is being vain
this constant writing in this dead-end style
has this search lost its meaning in the game.
When balancing the numbers hope to gain
a wholesome life, money may take awhile,
a quiet family instead of fame.
III
I am not omniscient but I see much
to hear the echoes of more joyous times
like sweet melodic charm of most windchimes
or leaning on Marshmallow as a crutch.
An almost forgotten childhood feeling
the calm patience of a beautiful world
or a ball of stone becoming smooth and pearled
dusty corners lost in vaulted ceiling.
When lost in spirits smug self confidence
we plead our lives will bring us more pleasure
then giving a life over to a faith.
To flatter ourselves with all this nonsense
like rich who hide their money and treasure
to want our fancy woodwork without lathe.

I guess we all always hope for the perfect life with the right love. Great work here, Jamie. Skillful phrasing with good rhythm and rhyme. Well done.
Very well-done Jamie, as usual. Very much enjoyed this.
Slightly melancholy…with a side order of day to day normalcy can get to us all. But yea…fear not for the Poet has Pen in Hand and can thusly try to make sense of it all! Life is good…you have the one who wishes you to stay and you have chosen the high ground: family over fame. Be Blessed, Amigo…and keep these entwined and engrossing Poet Writings coming. This is a Great Read!
Thank you Phyllis, Kurt, and Steve. Jamie
