Spirits in the Stormy Night

Spirits in the Stormy Night

Long into the night,

as the rain came down,

I watched the raindrops,

streaming against my window pane,

they seemed to carry a message –

from the dark skies above.

Each raindrop,

a quiet hello,

mingling with the teardrops,

rolling down my cheeks,

my forehead pressed against the window,

my hand seeking yours –

with greetings from the dark, stormy sky.

The clouds played among shadows,

the moon tried to peek out,

the wind tossed the tree branches about

and dark clouds played shadow games –

with the streaming moonlight.

Somewhere between the light

and the dark,

I imagined I could see –

the shadow of your smile.

The night turned stormy and wild,

there seemed to be so much mystic magic,

that filled the skies,

as spirits in the stormy sky –

began to dance about.

As the rain continued lashing down,

the wind began to howl,

mysterious and magical,

such storms are.

This soon turned into an electrical light show,

fascinating to watch and see,

as the rain continued to cascade down,

making my imagination dance

and my heart to beat faster,

imagine seeing spirits –

dancing across the rainy night sky.

While the wind still whispered

and the raindrops shimmered,

your voice in my ear I heard

and knew you loved me still.
