All My Memories
All my memories,
all of my dreams,
so very special to me.
Let me relive the times –
that made me smile yesterday.
So many years have come and gone,
but I still have to go on.
Losing friends and loved ones along the way –
returning to them in my dreams.
Photographs of happy times
and days that will never come again.
Smiles return to me,
seeing you waving to me,
from a time so long ago,
but to me, it seems like it all was just yesterday.
I have no regrets about what has been,
all my memories are locked away,
in the treasure chest within my heart.
Many bridges have been crossed,
that span glittering seas,
as sun rays dance upon the water.
Farther and farther,
from home I’ve wandered,
looking for my heart’s desire,
hoping to make my dreams come true.
Someday I know,
that my footsteps I’ll retrace,
to the places remembered evermore,
for as time goes by,
it remains as always before –
home is where the heart is.
Special times along with all my memories,
return with every favorite song,
taking me on a journey,
back to some forgotten yesterday,
where love and laughter –
could be found every day.
Come what may,
no matter how many tomorrows,
come and go,
there will be no sorrows.
There are still songs to be sung
and each of them will leave me –
remembering the love I lost along the way.
So I look toward the future,
leaving my past behind,
knowing that wherever I roam,
my dear ones will be close at hand –
locked deep in my heart.
