The Lover’s Thread – Poetry of Love and Romance
The Lover’s Thread, Poetry of Love and Romance presents the reader with an anthology of romantic poems written over a period of two decades. The work is presented in seven sections that cover the major topics of a long relationship. Each section is prefaced with a short narrative that brings the poetry in that portion of the book to life. These writings are from the personal collection of the author; most have never been previously published. Love and romance are two cornerstones of a happy and long relationship. The book was originally intended to be a hybrid poetry-prose self-help book for couples to help them remember why they are together and to put one another first. Yet, like all written works, the final product took on a life of its own. The poetry dominated the prose but the point still remained. The author instead integrated personal details of his own life into the book. These give the reader a foundation to really understanding the depth and richness of the poems. They are the glue which holds the entire anthology together and ultimately helps to weave a tale of romance, love and remaining true to one another, regardless of what the world throws their way. It’s a refreshing interpretation of how poetry can help to keep a relationship strong, and passionate. Communication is the key, but it’s more impactful and permanent when the communication comes in the form of a poem.
Author’s Note
