My Best Poem Yet

My Best Poem Yet
“Best Poetry Yet” Trophy

How does one make the Best Poem…that they ever thought they could…

How does one explore the boundaries of their writings…and have it turn out good?

Why do we try to write…if it is subject to be based upon the reader’s approval…

Screw-up on a few words…and get a thumb’s down…or be subject to removal.

Why begin to prose…Poetry is a faint apparition of words… vaporized in most people’s memory…

Bring forth the best of poems…Break the last barrier…And let be…What will be!

The Best of Words that can fit neatly into rhyme…

Lay ahead of me…with each passing line.

Does thou not yearn to paint images with words from your imagination…

Contemplate reality…the words are there…Words filled with expression.

Better believe…and Mark my Word…I’m working on my Best Poem yet…

A contribution to the “Arts”…that will go down in Poet History…if Folks don’t forget.

A masterfully crafted Poem…like none other before…

Sit back…pull up a chair…get ready for what this Ol’ Poetry Man has in store…

a Plain Word here or there…Compounded by pure “Manly” Poetry wit…

This poem may be my best one yet…one that will live on through time…count on it.

Slip, Slidin’ and Verse Rhymin’

Clever Phrases…And Impeccable Timing.

Man…Oh Man…Let’s start the show…I am so excited…

Glad you decided to read this one…Heck Fire…I’ll do my best to write it.

Get ready for the “topsy-turvy”- loop to loop…presented through Poetry…

Hang on through the barrel roll as we “Pull-up” from a near “non-rhyme” catastrophe.

So where was I…Oh…that’s right…My Best Poem Yet…as I was saying…

I’m ready to write the Best Poem of Mine there ever was …and I ain’t playing.

Onward and Upward…flying towards that great and distant Horizon…

Searching for meanings in every word…and giving purpose to each one.

I want to dig down past all emotions and to bring feeling or evocation…

Writing with ease…Loving every minute…at each appointed destination.

Gathering myself for this combined thought into words full of imagery…

I find myself trying to be more…than I ever thought I would be.

And landing with a “THUD”…My present state puts me back into Reality…

I see that writing a Great Poem…is harder than I thought it could be.

And coming to the conclusion…that I will do this thing…on that you can bet…

One way or another…I will eventually write the ultimate Poem: “My Best Poem Yet!”
