The Machine Has Spoken…

The Machine Has Spoken….

The Machine…

A great beast

Silent

But all powerful

Unseen

But ever present

Relentless

Infiltrating all that exists

Manipulating

Coercing

Pitting side against side

Watching

As a warden would

Invisible

Perched high above

While below

The masses congregate

Money changes hands

The beast gets paid

Inferior products

The beast gets paid

Tainted Products

Disposable Electronics

Garbage in

Garbage out

Contempt for commonality

Indifference

As long as the money flows

Consumerism

Feeds the Machine

For now…

Perhaps tomorrow

Conflict

War

Carnage

Chaotic division

A single goal

Globalism

At any cost

Money flows

Strife and pestilence

Opportunities to exploit

Resources

Labor

And the children

More money

The machine

With slithering tentacles

And razor-sharpened claws

Planting seeds of discord

In every government

Seeds of manipulation

In boardrooms

In newsrooms

Seeds of doubt

In the minds of the youth

Whispering doubt

Fear

Uncertainty

A mechanism of control

Evil

Intricate

Ruthless

The doctrine

All-consuming

Filled with complexities

Hungrily feeding

Upon carnal desires

Darkness and desperation

Hope is lost

The Machine has Spoken

Brokering materialistic pleasures

For a lifetime of servitude

Until death do them part

But death

Doesn’t guarantee escape

Debts will be paid

In other ways

So many other ways

The darkness reigns supreme

And if a light dares shine

A voice of reason

Unity

Togetherness and love

The Machine speaks

First whispers

Lies

Deflections

Ridicule

Vengeance

Sparks

Adding kindling

Fanning the flames

Boot heels

Truncheons

And bullets

Silencing the worthy

Distorting

Twisting

Rewriting the histories

Everything moving

Grinding

Chewing

Deconstructing

Destabilizing

Confiscating

The message is clear

Head down

Stay in line

Obey!

Obey!

Obey or disappear

Forever…

The Machine has Spoken

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.
