Just a Man Who’s Searching

Just a Man Who’s Searching

Do you search within yourself for all that is good? Do you want to be that person at the end of this physical life that those that knew you will say he or she was a good person? I believe—I truly believe in life everlasting. There have been times in my life for years when I lost my way, then something will bring me back to search for the inner truth.  Maybe this life is all about looking and finding the next road into a better life. Maybe, just maybe, I am just a man who’s searching.

Just a man who’s searching each and every day,

As the years roll by to live this ole’ life in a better way.

Don’t claim to be a saint or even a wise man,

Just a man who’s searching to be the best he can.

Working hard each day to make ends meet,

Sometimes in this world it is hard to stay upbeat.

Try to protect the children who are blameless,

From those that know better, but are shameless.

Learn to plead for those of us who are dying,

Hold those that have suffered and are crying.

Just a man who’s searching his heart and soul,

Trying again to make himself forever whole.

Maybe now is the time to return to the preacher,

And look heavenward to the ultimate teacher.

Bow my head, fold my hands like I have done before,

And pray for righteousness, for those that need more.

To pray for the all the sinners and the losers,

To make accountable of all the folks that are users.

Say a prayer and search my desire for inner truth,

Remembering “The Lord’s Prayer” from my youth.

Awakening my belief as my heart beats like thunder,

Where have all the years gone, I start to wonder?

Just a man who’s searching each and every day,

As the years roll by to live this ole’ life in a better way.

Somewhere I had lost my focus way back when,

Time to regain my values and beliefs and say – amen.
