Years Melt Away
Years Melt Away …
Through all the colorful autumns,
we no longer dance,
as colorful leaves go swirling by.
The cold winds blow all around,
no warm hand to hold,
I hear you calling me
and the years melt away.
Through all the winters,
walking side by side,
holding on tight,
as snowflakes dance by.
Now as the north wind howls,
I light a candle,
in the flame, I see your smile
and the years melt away.
Come the days of early spring,
when the first tulips bloom,
I remember our garden walks,
loving talks,
waiting for the first spring rains,
when dancing we would go,
now the southern breezes,
come whispering your name
and the years melt away.
When the summer comes along,
when butterflies begin to flit,
from colorful flower to flower
and the roses bloom on the vine,
I know you’ll always be mine.
One summer you went away,
with the angels on gossamer wings,
how I wish you could have stayed,
on starry moonlit nights,
I see you up above,
through the clouds and shadows,
I know you’re ever with me
and the years melt away…
