Pearly Shells
Pearly shells,
shining in the sun,
the melodies of the sea –
linger in each one.
Footprints in the sand,
washed away by the waves,
as the sea sparkles,
dancing along the shore,
waving to the seagulls –
as they fly high above.
Came dark stormy clouds,
that hid the sun,
choppy blue waters –
now silvery gray.
Pearly shells along the shore,
no longer gleaming,
the saddest memories come –
as tears down my cheeks are streaming.
Now dancing in the rain,
along the seashore,
with your image so clear in my mind –
I can feel your hands holding mine.
Remembering the pearly shell necklace,
you once gave me.
Together beneath stormy skies,
the sea breezes whisper of your love,
as sadness now overwhelms –
wishing for the sun to shine again.
As the rainbow appears,
sun rays dancing upon the water,
pearly shells once again gleaming,
cries from the gulls flying through the skies –
send me many loving greetings.
As I go dancing along,
many loving thoughts elate me.
Reminding me of a time,
when there was you
and there was me,
together we would sing –
to the music of pearly shells.

Lovely verse, Rasma. The loss of a loved one brings times of nostalgia both joyous and sad. You have a loving soul.
Thank you, Phylis. I hope all is well in your world and stay safe.
I love the imagery of the seashells. I love seashells and beaches and love stories told about walking on the sands. Thank you Rasma. Well crafted and a joy to read. Jamie
