All the Things We Didn’t Get To Do

All the things we didn’t get to do

All the Things We Didn’t Get To Do

In death, I see you, I feel you, your spirit always near,

Memories abound, still loved, still missed and very dear.

At night when alone, I think of you,

And of all the things we didn’t get to do.

When I dream you are there, but there is no sound,

All our songs, all our music, no more to be found.

In your death it has caused our music to forever fade,

Only those memories of smiles when our songs played.

When I close my eyes, I feel and I see you,

Never realizing our days together would be so few.

I feel you in bed lying next to me, trying to ease my despair,

All day, all night, each and every day, it is you I am aware.

At night when alone, I think of you,

And of all the things we didn’t get to do.

Someone asked me if I missed you, miss your touch,

Closed my eyes and walked away and whispered, “so much”.

Death and loss leaves a wound that will never heal,

I have learned that love leaves a memory no one can steal.

I try to keep myself busy with the things I do,

More often than not, I pause, I still think of you.

Missing someone is my minds and heart’s way,

That you left this life too early and I am not okay.

I have learned those we love even in death, don’t go away,

There is something that reminds me of you almost every day.

In death, I see you, I feel you, your spirit always near,

Memories abound, still loved, still missed and very dear.

At night when alone, I think of you,

And of all the things we didn’t get to do.
