Heaven Sent Love
Her broken heart had mended,
it had been crushed and dented.
Finally stepping out of her shell,
she was now ready for a new love.
Still when the snowflakes swirled about
or the rain came pouring down,
it still brought a sad frown,
with remembrances of the many tears,
that had been shed.
What she thought had been,
a heaven-sent love,
faded away as time went by.
So the seasons came and went,
while she kept vigil,
wishing upon the stars at night,
looking up toward the heavens,
during the day,
knowing that somewhere,
beyond the clouds,
her guardian angels kept watch.
Life that had been so extraordinary,
while the glow of love surrounded,
had now taken less bold colors
and life simply sailed on.
Her heart started singing,
lonely melodies,
longing for true love,
to come her way.
She wondered how long,
it would be before,
the angels finally,
offered her love,
that was truly heaven sent.
In the lonely nights,
she had gone through her souvenirs,
tossing away all the memories,
that came with many tears.
Her heart had many desires,
that had been stoked with love’s fires,
leaving behind only ashes,
finally blown away,
by the wind.
It was upon a stormy day,
while she sat lost in thought,
in the park by a gray lake,
reflected by the dark clouds above,
that unexpectedly she met,
with a startling pair of eyes.
Standing upon the shore,
across the way,
they were both mesmerized.
Suddenly the dark clouds parted,
sunrays came streaming through.
Before she knew it,
he was there beside her,
truly a love that was heaven sent.
As they gazed at one another,
she looked up toward the heavens,
her smile outshone the sun
and she knew he was the love she had been waiting for.
Together now their hearts with gladness,
beat as one,
it was the start of true love –
a love that was heaven sent.

Glad to be of help Jamie. Even though my love is now memory many things still inspire and many songs bring back the good times.
Heaven sent love – what could be better? The joy and bliss of this kind of love are beautiful and so is your poem, Rasma. Well done.
