The Changing Face of America
Across the land, from sea to sea
America isn’t what is used to be
The land itself; well it’s still the same
But the new arrivals want things changed
Despite the fact they have no stake
They think our nation is theirs to take
They disregard our flag and laws
Act like everything’s a social cause
Insist we honor their religion
Even though the nation’s Christian
Sharia law takes women’s rights
And America is not the Golan Heights
It’s not the desert called the Middle East
Instead of Clerics, we have Priests
It’s not part of Russia or an EU member
It a free nation, with all its splendor
Religious wars just don’t happen here
And outspoken folks don’t disappear
Our women wear whatever they wish
Eat beef, chicken, pork or fish
In America people aren’t property
And we’ve kept away from Monarchies
Travel freely across the great expanse
No need for permission in advance
No secret agencies watching you
Do pretty much what you want to
Text your friends or use the phone
Go to school on student loans
Raise a goat in your backyard
Start a business or join the Guard
It’s about choices without oversight
Sleep without fear through the night
No roaming soldiers on our streets
Stay out all night; your free to meet
Suicide bombers are unheard of
We’d rather spend our time in love
But leaders don’t always put us first
Drag our troops into the worst
While here at home, a soft invasion
Trying to corrupt a sovereign nation
Use our laws for their advantage
Like preying on the disadvantaged
And when citizens keep asking why
Corrupt politicians spew out constant lies
The money train makes the rules
Regular folks just play the fool
Sometimes it feels like a DC smokescreen
The spin just calls for Dramamine
We’re on the bubble, this we know
Does America stay or go?
Like Rome we may rot from within
By the greedy ones who trade in sin
Freedom lovers say stay the course
It may come to a show of force
But if patriots all stick together
Ignore the words of Liberal professors
Speak as one and stop the madness
Keep the nation out of blackness
Bring back the rule of common sense
A stronger nation with a strong defense
Checks and balances need renewed
Get back the American attitude

A great and very patriotic poem, Ralph. I stand strong with we all work as one and “get back the American attitude.”
A wonderful read with powerful and true sentiments, Ralph. An enjoyable read.
Americans on the most part are spoiled and have no concept of what the progressive tactics will actually bring. Texas just announced they will not take any more refugees – seemingly they only state right now that actually understands the monetary and cultural cost of unfiltered immigration. Very impressive piece you have written here Ralph on a very important subject.
A very inspirational poem Ralph and though there may be certain policies we disagree on the truth is I believe with all my heart the last line of your poem. God bless America. Jamie
Excellent piece Ralph. 1000% agree. Also agree the institutions are spewing liberal crap and poisoning our youth. Nice work.
