At Cost, Our Every Move

At Cost, Our Every Move
At Cost, Our Every Move

Our human conditions display many anomalies and during our lives, we see and often experience the gamut of emotions and intentions from people of all walks of life. I like to delve into many aspects of human behaviour, both negative and positive, as it keeps us grounded to realise we all struggle.

At Cost

Mordant words in acid leach
from caustic mouths of souls in breach,
and vitriol an acrid feast
for human beasts in loathing.

As vile drips from gaping lips,
attest the malice and bloody quips
that flow from blame and sinking ships
to quell their pain of being.

The innocent loss not considered cost,
is just an accepted blood-letting,
a venting rage of hatred aged
in necrotic vessels emitting.

Black eyes like glass in evil cast
espouse an unrelenting vigour,
so lost to vengeful afflictions,
embraced by demon convictions.

So grotesque this animal malaise,
in a haze of blind anger and violence,
an uncontrolled sentence of deprivation to all,
that’s considered kind or sentient.

The acid builds and must spew out,
as the flesh rots and the mind postdate,
hatred brews and anger spouts
as flames do burn and hollow out.

But hatred minds fall to themselves,
their evil intentions combustible,
as their crusted flesh now imminent
to perish in the fires they light.

Too Little, Too Late

It’s statutory this allegory,
only for human consumption,
only for the compunction of elicit souls
who by whim and desire lit the fire,
and fed the mire we’re all in,
an unholy sacrificial sin.

And for our woes we suppose
we deserve some leniency of conviction,
a lack of knowledge,
a slighted sewing of our sin,
an oversight, a much-maligned din
of mistakes, realised.

But blame is not aimed at any target
of the acceptance of culpability,
a pointless pointed finger
just a breach of responsibility,
and in this sin of the human ilk
a silken lining of sense utters weakly
we sew, therefore we reap.
