Racism – The Great Societal Monolith

Racism, the great societal monolith

A word now rendered meaningless

Overused by those who protest

Everything which they disagree with

In America all are people are free

Regardless of their race or history

Each can be what they want to be

The Constitution is a guarantee

A united nation with a common goal

Build the country, as a whole

Free from tyranny or police control

The Stars and Stripes on every pole

But we’re faced with nasty politics

Divisionary schemes and harsh tactics

Loads and loads of dirty tricks

Misinformation that often sticks

A new class of Social Justice Warriors

Hiding safely behind their keyboard

Searching every file that’s stored

New outrage to feed the hoard

Scrutinizing every symbol

For anything that might resemble

Veiled racism as a dog-whistle

Hoping they can start a ripple

He said, she said, it doesn’t matter

Separation is the only thing they’re after

Friend’s fighting brings them laughter

Shakes the foundation to the rafters

Stirring the pot, just to drive division

Some run rogue without supervision

Others speaking another’s vision

Every word dripping of derision

The brazen few who leave their spaces

Wearing black, with hidden faces

Shouting out those words and phrases

Every word just more abrasive

Mindless trolls who lack understanding

Endless lists of their demanding

Reparations, they claim outstanding

Decades they have been longstanding

Every real discussion is shouted down

Chase the opposition all over town

Blocking streets until they close down

Just another leftist shakedown

There’s lot of money still to be made

All the companies are getting played

It’s not like they were in the slave trade

But bad publicity makes them afraid

Useful idiots who carry the water

Followed by a band of lawyers

Those who fight are getting slaughtered

Those who pay get some fake honor

We could easily find ways to get along

All the grievance mongers, just move on

But the racism zealot must prolong

Telling us that everything right must be wrong

The media keeps preaching the daily hate

Stereotypes that they always update

Society bearing an artificial weight

So much confusion, we can’t see straight

Power and money, money and power

Keeping control from their ivory towers

A slow motion crash that just devours

Keep us divided, make us doubters

Racism today is a social construct

Used quite often by the morally corrupt

When we get closer, they interrupt

If we become friendly they try to disrupt

If all Americans were joined together

No more classes and no more tethers

The ruling class couldn’t stand the weather

We’d boot them out and all their blether

I most powerful and expressive write. If only people could see beyond the colors, races, and so on an just be as one – a human standing up for another human.

Yes, very expressive and powerful indeed. Hate-mongers and separators get their thrills by kickin’ their shxx around. If we all stand together in spirit with our lanterns to light the way to brotherly/sisterly love we can stamp out the agressors who are bent on destroying. Great work, Ralph.

I think what you are saying is true Ralph. I feel that true meaning is lost within rhetoric. Jamie
