My Greatest Love

My Greatest Love …

You’re my heart and my soul,

when you’re not beside me,

I miss you and long to kiss you

for you’re my greatest love.

When I see you,

you’re my knight in shining armor,

your smile lights up  –

each and every day for me.

Then you bring your kisses

and when you’re not with me,

I sure do long for you,

my greatest love, my life,

my soul’s desire –

you set my heart on fire.

Try as I might,

cannot get you out of my mind,

my world would surely end –

if you, my greatest love would go away.

So if you love me,

say that you’ll stay,

as long as the world keeps on turning –

my flames of love for you will keep on burning.

A sad day it would be indeed,

if you took my happiness away,

then alone I’d lock away my heart,

something I should have done from the start.

You tell me that it’s forever,

but you come and go,

I never know –

what tomorrow will bring.

Seems we’re dancing,

in a slow sway,

usually, nothing much to say,

but kisses that keep us enraptured

and my heart beating faster.

So much more I want,

from a love that shines like yours,

you’re deep in my heart –

but I don’t think I’m in yours.

I’d rather take on the rainy days,

finding another way to make me shine,

because as long as your mine,

I’m just trapped by a love untrue.

Perhaps another day

and you won’t make me blue.

Tell me you love me

and forever happy I’ll be.

For living without you would like dying –

my greatest love…
