Expansion

Expansion
Expansion

Often life itself absconds with our intentions and presents yet another conundrum to explore. Change is not always chosen but perpetrated upon us and we can respond as we wish. Sometimes expansion can be painful, other times just enigmatic, but for all our sentient musing, some events and changes are life changing. I hope you enjoy and relate to a recent event in my life…

Expansion

I am better for having witnessed those moments
when dreams and life collide,
dark spaces of void filled with change
yet not remembered, and beauty
transcends the timbers of my forest,
like a sunrise’ upward lift as trees are shadowed.

What world awaits to examine,
when sentience is but a grain of my timber
and so much more implores us to explore,
as shifts in time and cognizance
open doorways unattended,
and we in passing through them, amend the view.

Memory fails, replaced by wonder,
as if thunder changed the pitch of life,
and in recognition, we misunderstand the plight,
as consciousness expands like warm air
and encompasses more than we understand,
standing in a new condition.

I am both alarmed and enlightened
to feel the shift, the expansion of my gift,
but the blank transition leaves me wanting,
the memories slow to drift back in place,
as new horizons beckon with grace
an alternate life.

Blessed am I to connect,
to open a new door and in effect
transcend what I know to what is possible,
and although this feeling of hollowness abounds,
there is promise in the transition,
joy in the recognition of expansion.

Thank you sincerely Phyllis. Yes I’ve had more than a few odd shifts of late. This morning I woke up and didn’t recognise that last four poems I wrote. Also in the last 24 hours I’ve had three clairaudient experiences, so clearly heard it took me by surprise. Somethings moving. Take care

For sure, Jamie, poetry is a reflection of who we are and in our renderings, we teach ourselves and expansion is the result. So glad you connected my friend. Take care
