Beauty Does As Beauty Will
…for my wife; a beauty of a thousand lifetimes
Her sparkling eyes turned towards the sky
Clouds and wind; she takes all of it in
Her flowing hair swept everywhere
But when nature shares, she has no cares
Her graceful smile stretches for miles
Twinkling eyes with no disguise
And playful laughing at the choreographing
Another close of another day; so perfect on display
She’s centered as the sun; every vision filled with fun
Perched up high on a hill; beauty does as beauty will
When the horizon light sinks into the night
She watches the shadows play, then slip away
Pretty colors change, then rearrange
Mixing, blending, and never ending
As from the darkened lush of an artists’ brush
Painting robust bouquets of dims and grey
While leaden sighs still dim the skies
Though dazzling days lead to endless praise
The sun must be jealous as the night develops
Subtle changes on mountain ranges
Salty tides, becoming amplified
A gossamer mist, like a long goodnight kiss
While an invisible hand spreads moisture inland
The plump full moon in delightful bloom
The endless stars plus Venus and Mars
A musical chorus spilling from woodland forests
Nearly silent whispers from the flowing rivers
Yes, as darkness falls, this beauty sees it all
This peaceful silence is what gives her balance
Learned an adoration for natural relaxation
Those moments spent seem heaven sent
With twilight gone, it won’t be long
She’ll soon head back before the total black
Mental pictures, her visual scriptures
Her vision stream; the sweetest cream
Delectable sights from another night
Softly breathing as she starts her dreaming
Until the budding flowers of her waking hour
Satisfied and had her fill, beauty does as beauty will
