Closure for an eternity
Closure for an eternity
He said once to himself I don’t have any idea how long
just ask your heart the question or sing your soothing song
some closure might take a long time
and some not ever to arrive
Was justice all there was that was missing
was the punishment all as required
Did you want to place your hands into the swill of anger
and wring from that solemn respite
You talked of the visions when you thought appropriate
in silence you cursed the gods
once in a while you smiled at some memory
yet guilt grinned back at you in shy resolve
The years have passed and still no ending for on occasion
the searing pain will cease
Now though in the age of maturity in the era to enlighten
I look at a child when I should smile I am but frightened
So live well my beautiful angel live as long as a life can be
fleeting in the spells of the living
This life was never meant for true angels they fit
not among our dirth
We have lost much and yet we will lose once again
but loss isn’t even ours to say
Bear up these hearts I beg for all our souls
for there comes another day
There IS though this perfect place and I take peace in knowing
that you’ve been there since time eternal
and even if we only rest there in silence forever
it will be together that we do

A lovely and emotive piece Ed very much enjoyed. I guess the is no closure within eternity, that is a human want. Great work my friend.
