All I See Before Me…Infinity

Infinity…

All I See Before Me...Infinity
All I See Before Me…Infinity

Vanquished light recedes to night
with a whimper,
and star-crossed those beneath,
gazing into the firmament,
their dreams aloft like flighted doves, released,
and time looks down with ambivalence,
past wound up in light’s glitter, like
bidding hearts from afar,
while clouds escape the burnished horizon,
dissipate like morning mists
and allow those stars to shine.

So many strewn across forever,
white swirling masses of time once held
by another’s gaze,
and in a testament of a now malaise,
glimmer youth in time’s slight of hand,
while I in thoughts so lost,
vacant stare this panorama
of pure irrefutable infinity,
my fleeting life a sacred acknowledgement held,
and wonder I do, those secrets viewed,
yet hardly understood.

So small I feel, humbled to insignificance,
before this wake of time’s unfolding,
yet a blink of sentience,
amid eternal flames and refrains of life’s outpouring,
and I try not to delve too deep,
to waste a mind in understanding,
rather breathe it in,
know I am alive within this ultimate beauty,
this divine purity,
and know also I am as stars,
as old at the core as all, I see before me.

I agree with Phyllis, all of your work is expressive and each verse brilliantly penned and placed. Like an astral traveler you indeed take us all on a journey through time and space. Well penned my friend, thoroughly enjoyed.
