Each Cycle a Day Unique

Each Cycle a Day Unique
Each Cycle a Day Unique

A vibrant sky greets morning
with a whispered vow,
a gentle breeze to en-wrap
those warm rays of sunshine,
caressing ground, leaf and bow,
and to keep those pesky clouds away,
keep day a pristine reflection of heaven.

And as sun does rise through heaven’s eye,
the warmth brings creatures into light
to praise the moment,
to keep life flowing in nurture’s sight,
thriving in cycles of rise and fall,
and without judgement accept
the life they are given.

Activity marks the day,
rushing, collecting, harvesting sustenance,
striving to maintain longevity,
within the realms of possibility,
driven to the lengths of survival’s cause,
offspring protected, above all cost,
for the future of their kind.

As the sounds of industry clatter
in the wake of consciousness,
the earth spins unbeknownst, cycles
of darkness and light, the plight of earthly life,
as winds change and clouds now dance
upon the hazed horizon,
promising a subtle shift of mood.

And at its zenith the sun beats down,
not quite harsh, but sound,
and busy day churns on in thoughts and deeds,
work to do, mouths to feed,
as sliding afternoon secedes
to welcome that gloaming light,
as clouds in golden linings gather.

And cool breezes skate upon the ocean,
delivering a salty fresh approach,
and souls stand still to inhale the redolent scent
so prized in heart and scope,
as day slowly winds down,
and thoughts change to burrows deep,
nest and nooks of home to keep us light.

As night afford its purple blanket maze of stars,
and orange hues dip slowly into oceans line,
twinkling lights attest
the silent infinite rhyme of life,
echoing so effortlessly in mind,
as we stare into the beginnings of existence,
without resistance accept, each day a blessing.

So beautiful, Tony. I love your works like this – It seems as if I’m watching a peaceful video on nature and a lovely day fading into night. Marvelous work indeed. Take care dear poet.

I have to return to these vistas, I so love rainforests and nature in its purity. I never get sick of writing about it. So glad you enjoyed Phyllis. Kindred spirits. Take care.
