Changes in the Sky….Foreboding

It’s snowing in the nearby hills,
a symptom of our earthly ills,
and hail just unleashed a thunderous wrath,
our backyard white to match
the chill in recognizing change,
so fierce is nature’s desperate pleas
to rearrange, to ease this harsh imbalance;
inside I watch with foreboding thoughts,
how far this path will go,
when humanity in such careless greed
takes more than need and arrogantly knows,
it will not end well.
My cat is like my shadow,
he knows all is not well,
and comfort I must give to quell his fears,
what he doesn’t understand, he knows
and tears would find him if he could,
instead he relies on me,
to relent on what’s misunderstood,
and give him peace amid catastrophe,
his world changing, his fear escalating,
some-thing’s wrong, he feels it,
and quiet he becomes,
tethered to discomfort.
I just see a path laden with a future ache,
a direction we’ve been following,
and indications are rampant now,
anomalies a frequent showing,
an imbalance we must bear,
the consequence of our care
found wanting,
and weather is just a suggestion,
before wrath is in real contention,
when disaster will question our survival,
adversity we must rival
before balance is restored.
The hail eased and rain now slight,
the clouds parting momentarily,
for spite comes and goes,
as if to bargain a cessation,
for I see the fluctuations,
the unsettling bounds of restitution,
as earth takes steps to remedy
what we have done,
and it all will get far worse before it gets better,
the weather just a scratch on the surface,
as our home struggles to find equilibrium,
and we continue to disrespect her conditions.

T’is naught much we can do, but remain strong in spirit, know our truths, live with love for nature and all living things, and hold hands with soul family. This powerful verse of yours has come at a time we must all wake up and reach out to each other for strength and inner peace. Take care dear friend. x
Very true Phyllis, the more of us focus on change the better chance of its happening. Take care.
How very true my friend, not only weather changes, political and social economics are at peril. Countries fighting as greed persists. The common peoples in our world are being subjugated to horrendous trials and tribulations. One wonders when it’s all going to collide and bring us ever so closer to the brink of disastrous results. I’m worried for our present and next generations, they will be in survival mode for sure. Focusing on change is important and fortunately we have quite a number of active planet saver groups rising across our world. It’s time we open all our eyes and come to grips with the devastating happens right in front of our eyes. Well penned Tony. Cheers
Glad you appreciated the work Vincent, Take care my friend.
