My Children’s Sad Mother’s Day

My Children's Sad Mother's Day
My Children’s Sad Mother’s Day

Duly noted, your displeasure so promoted,
in blame and everything in hardship’s name,
your claim, demoted from a pedestal tall,
you yourself avowed a place,
but now in drowning tears,
your victim mentality of all your years
does reek of the lies you’ve engineered
at everyone else’s expense.

The corner you are in, hand fashioned by your sins,
and no-one can attest more than you,
your misconstrued dark plans to hurt others,
now alone hurts you,
and care I might for this your plight,
but for all the harm you’ve caused,
I guessed there would be a toll,
as now you feels its sting.

Mother’s have a duty,
an unconditional love and a devotion,
a beauty from a heart devout, for their children,
but as you have shown,
a conditional line of demarcation,
a selfish incantation, that you above all must win,
and jealousy marks your path,
leaving an aftermath of pain.

Your children see just who you are,
beyond what you can see in yourself,
and it is abundantly clear, that life is all about you,
your shallow concerns and superficial caring, left wanting,
for it is you who come first,
and all who are in your way are cursed,
a malice of dark resolve writhes within you,
and blame is your weapon of choice.

I once loved you, thought you were growing,
but it was all an act, a compliant lie of true nature,
and when you abandoned our commitment,
you changed so much, I barely recognized you,
until our love was vilified by your darkness,
and then you turned on our children,
blackmailed them, tried to turn them against their father,
the one who truly loves and cares for them without question.

I do not interfere, our children have their own minds
and see very clearly the truth,
and it seems you have burned all bridges,
been so negative and impossibly feigned of life,
they see just pain, in your eyes, in your day,
in all you do and say,
and now they have all but abandoned you, for their own good,
so Happy Mother’s Day, is it all you hoped for?

Thanks Phyllis, yes not a words from mother, the kids have had enough. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I know it was a biting piece, but writing helps free me from it. You understand. I only put it here, nowhere else and she’ll never see it, not that it matters. Take care.

Yes, I understand. Writing about it frees you. And I do know how your children must feel – my family have had similar issues that left deep hurt in us. It is a blessing your children have you. Be at peace. x
