Flights of fancy often creep into the walls of reality,
tinted hues of a believable mentality,
when wants overwhelm the halls of improbability,
and rest on the solid ground of feasibility,
until it becomes a truth of hope,
a way to cope with truth.
Often fantasy can be a better alternative,
a more wanted possibility,
and so it feeds our desires, bit by bit
until the reality bends to our will,
and the heart instills a false god,
a truth to revoke all doubt.
Here in a dangerous delusion of reality
we wallow in the wants of the heart,
and in immersion find truth exhilarating,
gaining a further purchase, dug in to desires
that rest in will alone, so prone to flight
we become the vessel of our plight of hope.
The world rests on the back of delusions,
for we are bereft of so much we want,
yet life disavows our cause
when we focus singularly on desires
and create imbalance for all we so aspire in life,
leaving us with seemingly nothing.
Yet we have so much,
and often forget what we have,
so transfixed by all we don’t,
and so the delusions may rule our lives
when surely we have much to be thankful for,
and even more, when we relent on our focus,
we see the love around us,
the heart so easily filled.
The sentient mind finds reason in all of life,
the spiritual mind finds purpose,
and love in all its forms is our guide,
to everything we so choose to be and experience,
and in that, joy for being, contentment for seeing
we are far more than our wants and desires.
