We, a Flicker in Time

We, a Flicker in Time
We, a Flicker in Time

Plates of studded diamond falling fates,
glimmer in purple haze of night, clattering,
breaking in the weightless fall, as shapes galore
amass in a porcelain chipped array,
stars like reflections pulled inelegantly
from space, leaving holes of black,
sucking all else into the void of knowing,
and stripping my sky to nothingness,
and as those streaks of clouds so near,
disappear, as the sky is falling,
and I don’t know what to do.

Orange flares as plates collide,
smashing stars once glittered rides,
and flames rise like suns exploding,
as black becomes blacker,
and unknown finds knowing,
while comets aspire to speed in lines perverse,
to escape this broken universe,
and meteors glide by,
their frozen tails alight in blue frosted mirth,
as time, hidden in moons glow
peaks out in hesitant show.

Cracks appear, first one then another
as light seeps in, the black void now a window
to another time, another beginning,
and planets driven like Dodgem cars,
collide in adverse colored explosions,
spraying matter into light-less purple,
each sphere in turn colliding,
spectacular glows of golden hues,
like matches struck at intervals across eternity,
and in this chaos there is certainty,
that nothing dies just transforms.

And gasses gather,
colors a myriad spatter of life engaging,
mass and matter parading
through plates of falling sky,
and I hold my breath to see,
if I am dead or just relieved from a dream profound,
as the vision just ensues,
explosions faster as more and more collide,
broken cosmos taken in stride
of cycles that come and go,
and we a flicker in time, no more.

And insignificant specks are we within this massive profoundness. As with stars of the past that have exploded, your dream may be what is to come in the far distant future. Great work Tony – magnificent.

All I could think of Tony while reading this was “IN THE BEGINNING WAS ALSO THE BEGINNING OF THE END.”

Thanks Kurt, I guess in life beginnings and endings mark time but are just part of continuing cycles. Cheers!

Interesting take by Kurt. I felt like i was in an extremely intriguing planetarium symposium. It was educational and the imagery was immense. So good my friend.
