Journal Within This Heart and Soul

Journal of Love

Journal within this heart and soul of mine,
Let not the words in secret kept, escape
Thy pages written for me as a cape
To wear with love and proudly for all time.
For eternity the love in each line
Expresses my own highest truths which shape
My life with ecstasy, ever to drape
My heart in a loving cloak so divine.
I have vowed to ever hold close my dreams,
Dreams which have given me strength and courage,
To live each day with love in heart and soul,
And fear not thoughts of what tomorrow brings,
For each tomorrow is hope to flourish
The love within my heart that makes life flow.

Dear Heart

Sweetly keep, dear heart, this journal within,
Among the treasures of the life I live,
For there will come the day when I can give
The words I keep hidden to one deep in
My heart, the veil between us so thin,
It will some day vanish, when I relive
Those beautiful dreams that always forgive
Life’s struggles and the mistakes made again.
Is ever love, strongly known, forbidden,
When within the heart one knows it is true?
Is it something to make one so fear it?
Oft times one keeps their emotions hidden,
Even when the loved one already knew,
For love will be made known in the spirit.

I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. Thank you for visiting.

A beautiful soul felt piece, from where the heart and soul touch and re touch, and become alive. The sonnet has always been one of my most cherished, and hard to write, forms especially at this time of my lurid existence. Beautifully, and emotionally presented, Phyllis!

Thank you very much, Donald, for the lovely comment. I love to write sonnets. There are two rhyme schemes I use, then there is an old one W.B. Yeats used that is much different and difficult to write, but, I really like it. It has 32 lines instead of the normal 14. I am so glad you like these sonnets.
