Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms …

cherry blossoms

O’ for the beauty of cherry blossoms,
Bursting forth in an ephemeral cloud,
Sweet thou art as I breath deep to draw some
Grace from you, and my spirit is endowed
When I amble here in this gentle breeze,
Romantic poets have long admired
Your beauty, your fragile lovely flower,
And pen beautiful words under your trees
Enchanted poets become inspired,
Expressions of love within your bower.

Admirers love to stroll or picnic
In the pleasant cool shade of your bower,
Children love to chase petals that mimic
Snow from the beautiful trees that shower
Those below as they watch petals above
Float down so gracefully like soft snowflakes,
And softly cover everything below.
Couples whisper a vow and pledge their love
And a heart once so lonely soon awakes,
Love in bloom as all in life is aglow.

Beautiful cherry blossoms, lovely sight,
Such a short time you linger with us here,
You brighten our day, enter dreams at night.
Farewell for now, you will be back next year,
Reminding us life is temporary,
So enjoy each moment of life’s pathos,
Memories gave us blissful peace beneath
Your trees, as we slow down time to tarry,
Gratefully admire and take with us,
The memory you graciously bequeath.

I am an author on TCE and write mainly in poetry and short stories. I have always liked to write. It is important to me that writing comes from my heart and soul. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. I began writing content online in 2007, starting with BellaOnline - A Voice For Women, where I was the Native American Editor, Folklore & Mythology Editor, and the Appalachian Editor. I also wrote articles for The Examiner, Daily Two Cents, and Yahoo. I am currently an author on HubPages. Most of what I write takes a lot of research and I love it. Even if it is a fictional story, I will research for accuracy in whatever it takes to make my characters, their era, their location, etc. become realistic to the reader. I hope you enjoy my works. Thank you for visiting.

Lovely Phyllis, and one day I’d love to go to the yearly festival in Japan to see those blossoms en masse. Great work my friend.

Thank you, Tony. It would be so wonderful to attend the festival in Japan. There is a lot of symbolism with the cherry blossom in Japan. Take care dear friend.
