Each Circumstance Bears New Fruit

Inconsistent we are in our viewpoints,
scrambled with refuse of old,
biases, memories and experience
that told us in definitive terms how to respond,
yet present delivers everything anew,
and deserves attention,
so often cast aside for an easy fix,
yet at what cost?
Be consistently adept
at seeing every circumstance for its merit,
not some built up perspective
that taints every moment of now,
but the freedom of objectivity,
experience a foundation,
but decisions from the insight of all,
not just part of possibility.
Too quickly we judge,
often missing the core of our assumptions,
what may not lie
on the surface of understanding,
but starkly at the periphery,
truth always available
for the eyes of reality to witness,
and the soul to know.
Thought is a cumbersome tool,
fraught with misconceptions
and for us to lazily ignore a full spectrum,
is like being blinkered,
and never is truth so decimated
as when mixed with lies,
as watered down truth
is but a small part of the whole.
Unbiased thought is not easy,
but if we disregard judgement to see clearly,
reality falls into place,
and we in an informed state of mind,
then respond with clarity of purpose,
and as a consequence
truth prevails and settles
each and every circumstance.
Allowing the past to dictate our decisions,
is an absurd proposition,
for each circumstances bears new fruit,
and attaching it to past,
simply restricts our perspective,
thus misunderstanding the truth
and acting rashly or wrongly,
creating constant havoc in life.

Remember the Sanskrit poem, Salutation To The Dawn by Kalidasa? I thought about that as I read your inspirational piece here Tony. If we let the past hinder the newness of today, then we lose any glory and love available for this moment. Your words of wisdom are marvelous and so true. Great work, dear poet.
Much appreciated Phyllis, important lessons to remember and refer to, as we so easily forget and remain stagnant, unable to forge change in our lives. Take care.
