Our Choices
Be it a whim,
or a painstaking decision,
our choices mark our lives,
and within the endless variables
of grey areas of consideration,
the scope and hue of our circumstances
and their consequences, evolve.
Thoughts are like boxes,
some explode, others are gifts,
and every variant in between,
as we choose are fate, in ramifications,
undulations or smooth paths before us,
reward or disaster, all bound by attitude,
belief and action, our direction.
How frivolous we can be,
when it’s our life in the balance,
not for one minute considering,
our own thoughts creating
every aspect of our circumstance,
yet still we treat life like throwing dice,
and then complain when snake eyes arise.
Whims and hasty thought can be our downfall,
when all truths escape our conscious mind,
blind to cause and effect,
and the self-serving goals of gain,
driven to create such disaster,
to undermine our puerile wants
and misguided thoughts.
On an even playing field,
righteous thoughts of selfless being
provide a positive passage for thought,
and circumstance,
not clouded by negative consequences,
but open to pure manifestation,
and the power of universal balance
in its unfolding.
Choices guide our lives,
attitudes make clear our path,
and in selfless giving we crush obstructions,
and deal with contention in a loving way,
creating positive outcomes
and in acceptance of life’s process we learn
to abide by the laws that govern our existence.
