Hold Within My Heart

Hold Within My Heart

hold witin
You are my eternity …

The love I have for you is deep,
You fill all my dreams as I sleep,
You are always sincere and true,
Just one reason why I love you.

You truly give me so much love,
With every word and touch of
Who you are and your gentle ways,
You are my nights, brighten my days.

I hold within my heart this gift,
The divine blessing does uplift
And feeds the fire in my soul,
I linger in the afterglow

Of ecstasy from every touch,
Where you caress me with such
Passion, every touch like fire,
That fills me with burning desire.

I know and enjoy the beauty,
Love the glorious mystery
Of you when I see you asleep,
What do you dream, what do you keep,

Within yourself, hidden it seems,
When you soar above in your dreams?
You awake and from far away,
You drift back to me where I lay,

Take a deep breath and reach for me,
Without words you hold me tightly,
I am here for you, stroke your back,
Understanding we do not lack.

Memories of hurt from the past,
Will not harm us, our love will last,
You are my life, my eternity,
Together we will always be.

I have always liked to write. It is important to me that I write with spirit and heart. When writing poetry, if I do not feel a spiritual connection to what I am writing on, I will discard it and go on to something I can connect with on a spiritual level. I live in the moment, I write from the past or beyond the veil. When writing fiction I go with whatever inspires me at the moment - it could be funny, sorrowful, romantic or sometimes done with the use of colloquial language from mountain folk or other cultural regions. Thank you for visiting.

I wrote this poem about two months ago. Since then I have started having a lack of confidence in my poetic skills, but will just give it time. I do not think it is writer’s block. It is a spiritual disconnection, so I am not going to force it.

Very touching verse Phyllis, sometimes the love you speak of is indefinable but your words speak close to it’s truth. Lovely piece my friend
