Coffee House of Dreams

Coffee is just a catalyst to conversation,
and the better the coffee,
the greater the depth of sharing,
and after time all those
who work in or frequent our watering hole,
become family, connections of substance.

In this simple routine, happiness abounds,
for we need to connect, to share
and learn of each others lives, goals and joys,
and as time dictates our longevity,
learn to love many people in our daily lives,
those with whom we trust and share our thoughts.

The more we love, the more we are loved,
because we choose this life, this expression
of joy and appreciation that life affords
when we are open to all hearts,
without judgement or question,
connecting on the common ground of being.

For me, coffee is a regular Wednesday
morning routine, among others,
but something to look forward to:
solving world problems, sharing secrets
and embracing humanity for it potential,
not just its limitations or failures.

It’s always packed, as regulars amass,
and locals find a place to appreciate their lifestyle,
neighbors and citizens all equal,
here in the coffee house of dreams,
where another coffee is mandatory,
and the conversation never ends.

Outside, under umbrellas,
dog owners park for a coffee or two,
their canine friends watered and cool, greeting everyone,
while cyclists gather at the end of the ride,
coffee their reward, camaraderie they joy,
at the coffer house of dreams.
