The Songs of Kanona

My heart often becomes lost

Not abandoned, but simply free

Removed from the time and place

Where expectations reign

Rules engaged, and nothing

Is left to the variability of chance

Actually only lost

To those seeking to enslave it

To chain it along with my being

Anchored in a world

Where so much is structured

Planned and heavy to silence

A simply exit strategy requires

Stepping off the beaten path

Taking a chance at perhaps

Or maybe, or what might be

And letting the day inside

To warm your soul

There my heart waits for Kanona

A softness in voice without compare

In touch, and energy

And as she radiates; pulsates

So too shall I grow

Drinking in every moment

Languishing in the sunshine

While the traffic bustles

Others hustle and slide on by

Sipping on a tall drink

Of relaxation and anticipation

Lost in the folds of reality

Contemplation my companion

Observation my compass

And finally an enjoyment

Of the passing hands of time

For they demonstrate nothing

Except the principle of circularity

I’ve come to listen

To hear the songs of Kanona

A sweetness none can see

Something almost magically

Transforming and enticing

Truly, it’s changed me

A thousand worlds

The voices of the ancestors

Wisdom from forever

And further beyond

You can hear their wisdom

In the words of Kanona

Seek and you shall encounter

Should you care to take that step

And relinquish the comfortable

Routine of daily boredom

Where you watch the clock

And it watches in return

There’s space in the open

Far too much space to not be filled

Far too much unused love

The beauty of nature

Peace and harmony

And the sweet melodies of Kanona

Who is Kanona?

Many truths are discovered in our journey through life; many secrets revealed and many doorways opened.  Sometimes a visit to a magical place leaves us with more than we ever imagined we could find; amazing places such as the great landmarks from the past, wide sweeping expanses of water, wind, and snow, and those unforgettable tropical paradises.  The big island of Hawaii is one such place – it’s where Kanona revealed herself to me; both in name and in everything…so said Lalepa.

Beautiful, enticing, and mysterious – it is reminiscent of ancient mythology of the islands. Kanona and Lalepa must be a deeply spiritual part of your escape to peace. Lovely work Ralph.

Lovely in its rendering, its spiritual connection and an introspection that reveals a true path of finding peace. Great work Ralph.
