The Magic of Yule

Yule magic

Renewal, rebirth, recollections

Moments of happening

Pure white snow

Young eyes twinkling

Neighborhood lights blinking

Hope springing eternally

Joyful noises

From the mouths of babes

Roving choirs gaily singing

Rosy faces

Smiling in unison

Brimming with happiness

Peace across Gaia

Goodwill to all

Child, woman, and man

Hands reaching out

Sharing and caring

No one forgotten

Souls awakened

Charity shows humanity

Compassion stirs rebirth

Equality reigns

Hardened exteriors soften

Quarrels forgiven

Inevitable changes

All positive

Reminiscing

Days of youth

Morning surprises

Blessed be for offerings

Praises for the Goddess

And the humility

Inside we see

Counting thoughts

More valuable than gold

Or any sacred herbs

It’s the love shining through

Reciprocity of each and every

Gathering

Collective companionship

Introductions

All are friends

Sharing just for the sake of it

We beseech you!

Libations and morsels

Sweets and succulents

Embraces shared

Under boughs of greenery

Harmony

In welcoming the sun

Our Yule logs

Of oak, pine, or birch

Nights of twelve they burn

Ashes spread for luck

While the wheel keeps turning

Thanks is given

Memories made

It’s the magic of Yule

I write about everything and sometimes nothing at all. I'm fascinated by old things, rusty things, abandoned places, or anywhere that a secret might be unearthed. I'm passionate about history and many of my pieces are anchored in one concept of time or another. I've always been a writer, dating back to my youth, but the last decade has been a time of growth for me. I'm continually pushing the limitations of vocabulary, syntax, and descriptive phrasing.

Ralph, this verse is a reminder of so many things to remember. It is beautiful and touches my heart and soul. Very well penned. Thank you for these reminders.

Nicely rendered Ralph, in simple and meaningful phrases. The words evoked so well, that feeling of Christmas and sharing with loved ones. Well done my friend.
