Lost Beyond Dreams
Lost Beyond Dreams

Where did thy love wander, lost beyond dreams?
My heart weeps with great sadness,
Which engulfs me in embers of dying flames,
Flames that once you lit with words so passionate,
And touched my heart so tenderly.
I now walk alone on the path of hope forlorn,
Searching once again for self, for courage
To face each day, each moment, of loneliness,
Myself also lost beyond dreams,
Dreams of glorious days filled with bliss.
Beyond dreams there is nothing to see,
Nothing to hold on to, for love is no more,
Only quiet, sad existence there to meet me,
Like a dark stranger who knows not love,
For he closed the door and remains in memory only.
Let the embers die then, let me not die with them,
For love of self is life, the very life of being,
Tho there is no hope for the dreams,
There is yet hope for my self, for some
Kind of fulfillment that will keep me moving on.
May I someday again find enjoyment,
In sunrise and sunset,
In clouds that pass by like celestial ships,
In stars of the Heavens that tell me stories,
From long ago and forever more.

Both sad and romantic, Phyllis; some great phrasing and emotive every word. Well done
Thank you, Tony. Your sad and romantic verse inspired mine. Glad you liked it. Take care my friend.
