Life Reassessed, My Past Redressed

Life Reassessed, My Past Redressed
Life Reassessed, My Past Redressed

The creative flow is like a river,
a constant harmonious drift
that accommodates a like mind in expression,
and once joined that rushing movement
transforms to an openness,
an unencumbered vision that permeates a mind,
connects thought to a myriad of ideas,
as if sitting in a sun-lit field,
and every creative choice just a grasp away.

Many years I have made this connection,
in different forms and in different directions,
and now, having found
my rightful means of expression,
the flow is at my disposal
whenever I sit before a blank page,
and my thoughts no longer have intent,
my purpose just as that river, flows,
and I simply accept the movement.

Rarely do I know what flows through my hands,
rarely do I contrive thoughts,
as that would hinder my process,
so I become the blank page
and invite my creative mind to speak,
and with every skill I have learned over the years,
I render my heart’s song,
vetted through my soul, the echoes of all I know
to cleanly offer my truth in manifestation.

Writing to me is joy,
fashioned by a soul’s memories,
a knowing that many people seek but do not attain,
and so I know I am blessed,
I know these connections are real
and beyond my mortal shell,
but I have worked hard to this end,
and continue to do so, for I believe
we are here not just for learning, but to share.

I am just a simple man, of simple needs,
but it was not always so,
lost in the illusions of physical life,
but having paid my dues and reassessed my life,
my paradigm has transformed, my world has transformed,
and to me, it is clear: my path, my purpose
and the sharing that is my souls intention,
will carry me to my next life
and beyond, whatever that may be.

A wonderful confirmation of your beliefs and way of life expressed with confidence and positive intention. Well done, Tony. A great way to start the new year. I see your very first day of 2018 is going well. Happy New Year dear friend. Take care.

I have about 40 minutes to go to embrace 2018 with hope, good intention, and courage.

What a beautiful poem. I liked how you mentioned “the creative flow is like a river”. I feel like that during my quiet moments where I just let the creativity go. Like a river, once it passes by you can’t embrace it like before. I am looking forward to a few quiet moments to try and put something in print again. Right now, my house is full of chaos with the pattering of little feet.
    I enjoyed your poem, thanks!

Thanks Tammy, so glad you appreciated the work. I do understand about the patter of little feet and the chaos surrounding it. Luckily for me my eldest is now 40 and now that patter comes from grandchildren. But I have my peace and quiet to write and contemplate life and boy do I appreciate that. Mind you those days with growing kids were the best days of life and I cherish the memories, but now enjoy the quiet. lol Take care.
