A Better Way to Live
There is only one path,
yet many ways to find it,
and just as many experiences that nurture its direction,
sometimes ignored, sometimes implored,
we are all upon this journey of life,
strife and harsh recompense
the calling for growth in the light of truth.
We may ignore,
we may fight these paths,
suffer at our own hands,
buckle from what life demands,
but ultimately direction is our choice,
and no matter how we find this path,
it is the direction of our soul in learning.
Isolated from our other lives,
memories echo yet keep a safe distance,
but often we recollect and feel the strife and pain of past,
so we may deal better with what confronts,
yet each life the path is different,
based on required experience,
as a soul in search of uplifting and spiritual ascendancy.
This path has been long,
and not without pain, as that has been the making of me,
and although the anguish echoes long in memory,
it reminds me, how far I have come,
to forgive, to accept my human ineptitude,
and move on, free from impediments
and the chains that can bind us to past.
Instead now I remain free,
having found the silence of peace,
and no matter what ensues,
I remain, released from my once burdens,
untethered and in eyes of clarity,
my knowing thrives, and I alive
far more than ever.
My path is clear,
my burdens just bumps upon this road,
and with perceptions changed forever,
I cannot fall to the previous me,
lost in the shadows of yesterday,
instead, my every thread is for a better future,
a better way to live.
