Better to be Fulfilled

A better way…

In the stillness of denial,
I reach for solace, a truth
to placate the fears,
but in the art of stagnation,
I can offer no more than tears,
and sitting in the shadow
of this looming obelisk,
I see not of its intention,
see not the hidden risk,
I am simply disadvantaged,
by my own stubborn bliss;
so clinging to my denial,
accepting a stagnant stance,
my thoughts can lead nowhere,
imprisoned in advance,
and even though I know
the truth is weighted dull,
if I don’t recognize its worth,
I remain here until I’m culled.

For time waits for no-one,
and circumstances ours to govern,
and the comfort of denial,
is a fleeting trap, a momentary lapse,
a soft cushion done,
and learn we must our foibles,
standing in the shadow of the truth,
can never inspire movement,
just a slight of hand ruse,
so face the truth, and let go the fear,
nothing is worse than that,
reality just another view,
an embracing truth to aspire to,
and to deliver us from ourselves;
and in the realization,
the detriment of being still,
we discover that forward movement,
rather than living in denial,
its far better to be fulfilled.

Yes, as long as movement is forward, it is more fulfilling for our spiritual growth and life lessons. Fears and denial will hold us back, yet that is part of learning, then we find the way to get past those stumbling steps and go forth with more wisdom. Very enlightening verse, Tony. Well penned and a great piece.
